Aura is not another name for RULE / WILD
Short answer: Leo3oooX's community tests tie appearance to nurturing choices and stat development, not simply the visible alignment meter. Their report places the appearance check around the second boss.
Decide which question you are answering: “How should my combat engine behave?” or “Which appearance am I trying to obtain?” Keep those goals separate when recording a run.
Six reported aura patterns
The older guide associates permissive, approving responses with Kind treatment and restrictive, corrective responses with Strict treatment. These are behavioral descriptions, not a published point threshold.
| Aura | Reported feeding focus | Treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Adored | STR / AGI | Kind |
| Chill | HP / VIT / RES | Kind |
| Mischievous | STR | Strict |
| Reserved | HP / VIT / RES | Strict |
| Steady | INT | Kind |
| Whimsical | INT / AGI | Strict |

Trying to get Whimsical or Steady?
The author's later Whimsical test gives a more specific ordering: INT > AGI > STR, with Strict treatment. AGI alone is not that recipe. Steady is the reported INT-focused, Kind route.
Before changing your build again, note your game version, the last pre-transformation stats and your recent dialogue choices. If a result differs, change one factor next time rather than treating an uncontrolled run as proof of a new rule. We do not have a confirmed numeric kindness threshold or a universal minimum stat value.
For food selection rather than aura conditions, use the food-by-stat reference. Do not sacrifice all survivability merely to make a cosmetic experiment cleaner.
Choose RULE or WILD for the combat plan
In a separate Steam discussion, players favor RULE for dependable commands and ongoing effects, and WILD for aggressive damage and critical-hit builds. That is a playstyle trade-off, not evidence that one side automatically gives a particular aura.
One useful official distinction: the 0.8.0 update added an event that can grant a fifth battle-skill slot when Coo is strongly RULE-aligned. This is a combat benefit, not an appearance requirement.

Keep the next attempt readable
- Write down the target: one aura, one planned treatment style, one feeding focus.
- Record the evidence: version, difficulty, dialogue choices and a screenshot before the appearance changes.
- Keep the outcome: compare what actually happened with the prediction before spending another run.
This is our testing method, not a hidden game mechanic. A repeatable result is more useful than another unsupported “guaranteed aura” claim.
What this guide does not claim
We have not verified a complete transformation algorithm, all ending interactions, or that the March patterns are unchanged in the full release. Aura selection and the True Ending system unlock are different questions; this page does not use appearance as an unverified shortcut to a specific ending.
