How to unlock Octanya: the reported route
- During the island vacation, visit the forest area twice.
- On the second visit, the report describes taking the upper exploration option, then proceeding through the eating event.
- Accepting the subsequent offer to eat the shrine is reported to start Octanya's encounter.
If your choices differ, stop treating this as an exact script. Record the version and missing event; we do not have a confirmed replacement sequence.

Before committing to the shrine
Our preparation check: can you survive a turn without attacking, recover from a bad exchange, and still deal damage while your main skill cools down? If any answer is no, improve the rotation before seeking an optional fight.
Where the game allows it, keep a separate manual save before the island decisions. We do not give a universal HP target: a number without difficulty, mitigation and equipped skills would be false precision. The four-slot rotation checklist is a better starting point.
Read the tentacles before spending burst
In a February 2026 Lv.9 discussion, players describe tentacles using Protect and damage-type parries while Octanya heals. One player reports long defensive sequences; another says those sequences are not consistent. Do not assume a fixed four-turn pattern.

Use the forecast, not a memorized script. Our recommendation is to rebuild a safe damage window before committing another long cooldown.

Does poison work against Octanya?
reuben reports success with poison, making it a reasonable approach to investigate rather than a guaranteed counter. Check whether your application actually lands and whether the damage is keeping ahead of recovery.
The official 1.0 notes reduce cooldowns for Poison Claw, Poison Rush and Venomous Fangs. That supports checking their current tooltips; it does not establish a poison threshold or an automatic win.

Check the reward before repeatedly using it
A combat reward can have consequences beyond its damage. Open the warning only if you want the older, ending-related report.
Reveal the legacy Call of the Storm warning
Older reports associate using the acquired storm skill nine times in one fight with an ending. We have not confirmed the current trigger. Do not spam it experimentally in a run you want to preserve.
